NALDHAM HOUSE – THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR A BUSINESS CLUB
The Brisbane Polo Club owns its premises Naldham House at Number 1 Eagle Street. Constructed in 1888 as the head office for the Macdonald Hamilton shipping company, Naldham House was renovated to the National Trust’s highest standards prior to the Club taking up residence.
The Club’s architects took extraordinary care to integrate modern essentials such as air conditioning while faithfully restoring the building’s original elegance. A critical element of this restoration was the Club’s heavy investment in a superb collection of antique furniture and objects d’art to complement the architecture.
With its elegant dining room; traditionally furnished private meeting rooms, library and bar; fireplaces; magnificent wood panelled staircase; terraces with views of the city lights and river, the Club’s city setting in Naldham House underpins its traditional values.
Strategically placed in the ‘golden triangle’ of Brisbane’s financial district, Naldham House places the Club within a block of the city’s most significant modern office towers. Members enjoy the convenience of being in the centre of Brisbane’s bustling business heart, yet cocooned within the calm and exclusive ambience of last century.
