Club history

On 6th December 1988 the concept of a club in Naldham House was discussed at a Polo Committee meeting held at Tattersall's Club, and in January 1989 the Brisbane Polo Club was incorporated under the Queensland Incorporation Act. Architect, Bruce Buchanan, was then appointed to design a Club.

02.01.90 Development contract was signed with Pidgeon Folkstone (now FA Pidgeon & Sons)
20.03.90 First Club newsletter was published
30.04.90 Membership reached 1,500
01.05.90 Lease signed on Naldham House
04.06.90 Club opened it doors for the first time
29.08.90 Richard Anderson elected first President of the new Club
06.07.91 Club wins best state best interior design award
19.12.91 Committee proposes to buy its building
30.06.94 Club takes ownership of Naldham House
28.10.98 Richard Anderson appointed Club Patron
04.06.00 Club celebrates 10th anniversary

The Brisbane Polo Club was the first club in Australian history to open its doors with its membership list fully subscribed.
