THE PERFECT ATMOSPHERE

The Club offers members and their guests a variety of elegant meeting and eating areas throughout Naldham House, with courtesy and attentive service being a hallmark of the Brisbane Polo Club. The welcome is always warm and genuine.

The entire first floor houses the grand 130 seat Dining Room and its kitchens in which the Club’s outstanding team produces contemporary food matched with fine wines from the extensive cellar.  With its beautifully restored interior, the privacy of generously spaced tables and leafy glimpses through magnificent windows the Dining Room is an elegant backdrop to great dining.
The Club has gained an enviable reputation for the superior standard of cuisine presented in the Dining Room with food and wine sub-committees actively involved in consulting with the Club’s internationally experienced staff to ensure continued high standards and further development of the Club’s unique gourmet character. Breakfast and lunch are served five days a week, with dinner from Wednesday to Friday.

At other times the Dining Room is available for members’ private functions and is booked well in advance for both business and family receptions, being a particularly prized wedding reception venue.  Our experienced event management team and wonderful restaurant staff ensure that your special occasion remains a treasured memory long after the event.

Lighter luncheons and snacks are served in the ground floor Members’ Bar and Tiffin Lounge which are open every week day, with the Tiffin Lounge the place to be for delicious morning and afternoon teas.  The Kingston Room, Governor’s Room and Earl of Inchcape Room offer the superb decor and attentive service missing from public commercial venues while catering to business or social requirements of any type.  From the Kingston Room’s terrace, the city lights and river views provide a stunning backdrop. Comprehensive information on function facilities is available from the Club.

The Wine Cellar is keenly sought after for members’ functions with its less formal atmosphere of adzed beams and sandstone walls.  Cocktail parties and Cellar luncheons are regularly held here with members and guests enjoying fine food and wine in its historical surrounds.

MEETING OTHER MEMBERS

Since the Club’s opening a distinguished membership group, prominent in the civic, commercial, financial and social life of Brisbane have gathered at the Polo Club to be indulged in its tradition of excellence.  A busy social calendar of events brings members together in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

Guest speakers are invited to inspire and inform our members at monthly business breakfasts and lunches, including the popular ‘Tips and Tastes’ lunch held monthly in the Cellar when experts brief on new trends in relation to the stock market.   Sunday family brunches are held on occasions such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and introduce the next generation of members to the Club.

The Club arranges regular Winemaker’s Dinners featuring some of Australia’s best known winemakers and our Executive Chef conducts themed dinners and cooking classes.   Very popular to the Club’s social life are the ‘Dinner and Show’ evenings, where members and guests enjoy dinner at the Club prior to attending the best shows performing in Brisbane.   The Club also hosts morning teas, fashion parades and dinner dances.

An interest in polo or horses is certainly not a prerequisite for gaining sporting enjoyment from the Club.  The Social Golf Club conducts regular golf tournaments, including weekends playing golf and socialising at one of many first-class resort courses.   For the less physically inclined, the Club conducts bridge classes and tournaments, and an array of business and general interest papers and magazines are available to browse through in the cosy atmosphere of the Macdonald Library.

Many companies conduct meetings, conferences, luncheons, dinners and seminars at the Club. The Club is also a very popular venue for Weddings, engagement and birthday parties.  Enquiries and bookings can be made through our Functions Department.

The Club’s social life reflects our members’ view that relationships matter and good times are to be shared. For more information on Special Events click on "What’s on” or to check out the latest Newsletter click here.

We also have arrangements with over one hundred reciprocal clubs both in Australia and overseas and we can assist with introductory cards if this service is required.
